At Divine Inner Work, our goal is to make your experience as seamless and stress-free as possible, from your first inquiry to each treatment session.

This page provides an overview of accepted insurance plans, benefit verification, billing practices, payment methods, and appointment policies so you always know what to expect.

Insurance Coverage

Dr. Alisha Sabouneh is currently an in-network provider with the following insurance plans:

  • Aetna

  • BlueCross BlueShield

  • Cigna

  • Fulcrum

  • HealthPartners

  • Medica

  • Meritan

  • Surest

  • UCare

  • UMR

  • United Healthcare

If your insurance company is not listed, you may still have out-of-network acupuncture benefits.
We’re happy to help you verify your coverage before scheduling your first appointment.

Please note: Insurance coverage applies only to acupuncture services.
Add-on therapies (such as cupping, gua sha, tui na, Reiki) and intuitive or energy-based sessions (Reiki, intuitive guidance, mentorship) are self-pay offerings.

Insurance Billing Partnership

All insurance billing for acupuncture services is handled in partnership with Iris Mental Health & Wellness, who holds the insurance contracts for this location.

When contacting your insurance company to verify coverage, please ask whether Dr. Alisha Sabouneh, L.Ac. or Iris Mental Health & Wellness is in-network — not Divine Inner Work, which will appear as an out-of-network entity.

This collaboration allows for seamless billing and coordinated care while maintaining the same integrative, holistic experience you receive at Divine Inner Work.

Verifying Your Benefits

To verify your benefits, please email or text the following information prior to your first visit:

  1. Full name and date of birth

  2. Insurance provider and member ID number

  3. Photos of the front and back of your insurance card

  4. Preferred email address for verification results

Once received, we’ll contact your insurance provider and let you know:

  • Whether acupuncture is covered

  • Your deductible and/or copay amounts

  • The number of covered visits per year

While we’re happy to verify your benefits on your behalf, the information insurance companies share with practitioners is often limited.

For the most accurate and up-to-date details about your plan — including deductibles, visit limits, and copay amounts — we strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly. 

When calling your insurance company, ask whether Dr. Alisha Sabouneh, L.Ac. or Iris Mental Health & Wellness is in-network for acupuncture services. Divine Inner Work may appear out of network, but coverage is available under the Iris Mental Health & Wellness umbrella.

Insurance Responsibility

Verification of benefits is not a guarantee of payment.

If your insurance company denies coverage or payment for any reason, you are responsible for the full cost of your session.

This ensures clarity and fairness in all billing practices.

HSA & FSA Payments

Acupuncture sessions — and any therapeutic add-ons performed as part of an acupuncture treatment (such as cupping, gua sha, tui na, or Reiki) — maybe be eligible for HSA and FSA payments.

All intuitive and energy-based sessions (intuitive guidance, mentorship) are self-pay and not typically eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement.

Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Credit/debit cards

  • HSA/FSA cards

Payment is due at the time of service for self-pay clients.
Insurance copays are collected at check-in.

Refunds

At Divine Inner Work, each session, product, and offering is created with intention, preparation, and energetic presence. Because of the nature of this work, all payments are considered final.

Single Sessions (Acupuncture, Reiki, Intuitive Guidance, Integrative Healing)

Payment for individual sessions is non-refundable once the service has been provided.
No refunds are given for:
• Completed appointments
• Missed appointments
• Late cancellations (see Cancellation Policy)

Prepaid sessions may be rescheduled but not refunded.

Mentorship Program

The Inner Alignment Mentorship is a high-touch, personalized, time-structured offering.
Therefore:

  • All mentorship payments (paid in full or payment plan) are non-refundable.

  • If participating on a monthly payment plan, the client is responsible for completing all agreed-upon payments.

  • Missed or canceled mentorship sessions cannot be refunded or carried over beyond the program period.

This policy honors the time, energy, preparation, and consistent support held throughout the 3-month container.

Workshops & Retreats

Workshop and retreat registrations are non-refundable, as materials, time, and space are prepared in advance.
If you cannot attend, you may:

  • Transfer your spot to another person or

  • Receive credit toward a future workshop (if offered at the practitioner’s discretion)

Herbal Products & Recommendations

Herbal formulas and products are non-refundable due to health, safety, and regulatory reasons.
Once herbs leave the clinic or are shipped, they cannot be returned or exchanged.

Gift Cards & Packages

Gift cards, packages, and pre-paid sessions are final sale and non-refundable.
They may be transferred to another recipient upon request.

Digital Products

All digital offerings (PDFs, courses, meditations, etc.) are non-refundable once delivered.

Why This Policy Exists

This refund policy ensures clarity, fairness, and energetic integrity for both practitioner and client.
It supports the time, preparation, and emotional, clinical, and intuitive presence required for each offering.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you.

Preparing for each session involves more than the time you spend in the treatment room — it includes the time, energy, and preparation devoted to your care, such as reviewing intake forms, reflecting on previous session notes, setting up your treatment space, and aligning energetically before you arrive.

Because of this, 24 hours’ notice is required for all cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged a $75 late-cancellation fee.

  • Appointments canceled or missed within 4 hours of the scheduled start time will be charged the full session fee, as this time cannot be offered to another patient in need.

  • There are no exceptions to this policy.

  • Cancellation or missed appointment fees cannot be billed to insurance.

This policy honors the time, preparation, and energetic presence that goes into every session, and ensures we can continue offering consistent, reliable care for all patients.
